The 2009-10 season opens on Monday 21 September at 7.30 pm with a special introductory meeting “The Committee Presents”. This will outline our plans and Programme for the new season and will also feature three images from each of the Committee members all taken on Saturday 8 August. The Programme has been planned around two related themes; the first about inspiring our own photography and the second related to learning and knowledge about the techniques we can use to improve our images. We meet at 7.30pm every Monday evening from 21 September through to 19 April 2009 in the large room at Merton Hall in Ponteland Village, with a short break over the Christmas/New Year holiday. Meetings usually last two hours. There are two sorts of meetings; visiting expert speakers [in purple] on the one hand and, secondly, member run Discussion Sessions [in blue] geared to group practical work, discussion and members own photos. Over the year, the overall programme aims to provide a rich mix of photography and techniques, for both more experienced photographers as well as those learning the basics. This year the Programme includes six competitions [in red] with two new set Subject Competitions on 9 November and 8 February. Discussion evenings are subject to change in line with members priorities.
