Ponteland Wheelbarrow Race 1st January 2018
A rainbow heralded the 2018 Ponteland Wheelbarrow Race, based at The Blackbird. A good crowd gathered to see the three races: Youngsters, Ladies and Open. Mayor Alan Varley attended with his wife and later he presented the prizes. A tremendous amount of effort goes into an event like this. Thanks to all groups who participated. […]

An evening with Phil Robson and Tony McCann
It’s always a pleasure to have our own members leading workshops. First, Phil Robson introduced “Capture the Moment”. Phil encouraged the use of a fast shutter speed to take sports images. It was […]
Three of a Kind
Again members willingly rose to the challenge of taking their allocated subject and the result was a very enjoyable and informative evening. Our thanks to Bill Norfolk for his preparation and presentation and to Rod Smith for his organisation.
Knockout 6 November 2017
Knockout 6 November 2017 Veronica compared this year’s Knockout Competition and after brief discussion about which was the left screen and which was the right screen we had an interesting 90 minutes as members whittled down the initial 36 entries to find the most striking photograph. The winner was Ian Morton with “Women’s Work” which […]

Our Knock Out Competition is a highlight of our year’s programme. Rod Smith prepared the high number of entries and Veronica Congleton led us through the voting procedure. At random, two images appear side by side on our new large screen. Everyone votes for one image each time and the higher number takes that photograph […]
