North Tyne Area Projected Images Competition 2009

Frank Thomson - Best Picture

On Monday 23 March we hosted the annual North Tyne Area Projected Images Competition, attended by 70 people to watch six local clubs competing with their eight best images.  Keith Suddaby (FRPS, MPAGB, EFIAP, ABPE) from Morpeth, one of the top judges nationally, had his work cut out to rank so many images of such a high standard.

Ian Woodley and Ted Baldry

The battle for the best image was fierce, but after much deliberation Keith finally awarded the top place overall to "The Precipice" by Frank Thomson with a top mark of 30 - a great result for Frank and our Club - well done. Tynemouth were overall winners with a club total of 216 points. The trophies were presented by Ian Woodley, Chairman of the North Tyne Area Committee.

Our Third place result was Ponteland's best showing in a long time - congratulations to all those involved. The full list of results is shown below

The organisation and running of last night's event was done by a team of our members [and some spouses] led by Mike Sadler. Their hard work and planning paid off and the evening went faultlessly. Thanks to all those involved - they did PPS proud.
